NAM Distinguished Nurse Scholar-in-Residence Program

The NAM Distinguished Nurse Scholar-in-Residence program, supported by the Academy, the American Nurses Association (ANA), and the American Nurses Foundation (ANF), provides a year-long leadership opportunity in health policy at the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). Initiated in 1992, this program is designed as an immersion experience to facilitate nurse leaders engaging in a prominent role in health policy development at the national level and their interaction with other health fellows and scholars.

Johnson & Johnson Excellence in Media Award

The American Academy of Nursing’s Johnson & Johnson Excellence in Media Award recognizes exemplary journalism that reports on health or health care with accurate and appropriate inclusion of nurses’ contributions or perspectives. Eligible individuals are journalists representing media include newspapers, radio, television, magazines, online sources of public information (including blogs), and other media (including documentary films or entertainment media) that target a public audience.  Entries may include investigative reporting stories, breaking news, shorts, single stories, series, documentaries, and other media approaches.
