Living Legends - Nomination, Selection and Recognition Guidelines
Since 1994, the Academy each year has named outstanding Fellows "Living Legends." The program recognizes extraordinary lifetime achievement and provides an opportunity for all Fellows to meet and learn from their distinguished peers. A "Living Legend" must have been an Active or Emeritus Fellow for at least 15 years and made extraordinary and sustained contributions to nursing and health care throughout their career. They also must continue to influence the profession. The AAN Board of Directors solicits nominations each year for this award.
