Summary: The expert panel (EP) on child, adolescent, and families has been in existence for a number of years. Currently, the EP has three objectives: (1) develop timely topical white papers concerning, child, adolescent, and family issues, (2) maintain a list of expert consultants from the Child, Adolescent, and Family Expert Panel, and (3) develop and maintain the Child, Adolescent, and Family Expert Panel webpage on the AAN website.
Members of the Child/Adolescent/Family Expert Panel developed a list of Outcome Indicators of Nursing Excellence with families, along with questions that families can ask themselves related to each indicator. These indicators were subsequently developed into a book, Craft-Rosenberg, M. and Krajicek, M.J. (Eds) (2006). Nursing Excellence for Children & Families. New York, NY: Springer Publishing Company, Inc.
The AAN Child & Family Expert Panel is pleased to be an Outreach Partner for the KIDS COUNT Data Book. This project of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, is a national and state-by-state effort to track the status of children in the U.S. to provide policymakers and citizens with benchmarks of child well-being.
